Profession: Teacher
Interests: I have many interests! My greatest passion is spending time outdoors with my husband. I love being outside in the fresh air! Some of the outdoor activities I participate in include snowboarding, ski mountaineering, snowmobiling, hiking, backpacking, camping, whitewater rafting and cycling. The United States has so many beautiful natural areas to explore and I am so lucky as to live in an area that offers much outdoor recreation. I love capturing natural beauty and I always carry my camera during my outdoor adventures.
In addition, I enjoy spending time with my family. As of right now, it is just my husband and I, plus our pets. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. Our extended family lives far away, in the eastern part of the country. We try to visit them a few times a year. Something that always stuns people who are not from the Unites States is the vast distances in our country. If we were to drive to my parents' home in Pennsylvania, it would take us 32 hours in the car!
I love to travel. Not only have I been fortunate enough to explore my own country, but I have had many opportunities to visit other parts of the world. Meeting new people and experiencing new ways of life is so exciting to me.
In addition, I am also an avid reader and a good cook!
Education: I received my B.A. in Spanish and Education, with a minor study in English, from King's College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. I graduated with an honors GPA of 3.8. I received my M.A. in Foreign Language from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. I graduated with an honors GPA of 4.0. During my studies, I had the opportunity to spend 2 semesters in Spain and one semester in Mexico. Over the course of the past 15 years, I have also taken over 30 additional credits in order to stay up-to-date with the most current language and education topics.
