Intérêts: Hi! I'm Emma, a long term expat (12 years!) currently residing in Cambodia with my German husband.

I grew up learning French in school (as I was born in Canada), then became very interested in the German language when I went to study abroad in high school and later learned Italian through direct immersion. I continue to study German as it is important to my family life (communication with my in-laws and husband). I mention my language journey as I know that learning languages is a life-long journey that requires patience, intrinsic motivation, and a whole lot of time!

Professionally, I hold an MA in English Studies and an MA in Education. I am a secondary school English Language Arts teacher (grades 7-10). However, most recently I have had a career change to: MOTHER. I am a mother to a 1 year old bilingual daughter.

I used to work full-time on Cambly during my first masters degree (2018-2020). I have not been back in a few years!

Personally, I am a very introverted person who enjoys quality over quantity. Kindness, listening, and deep thought are important to me. I hope that these traits will help me guide you in your language learning journey!
