Profession: Secondary school teacher. Before qualifying as a teacher, I was a registered nurse and midwife.

Interests: Writing: I write Health and Social Care resources for ZigZag Educational Resources and novels and short stories, usually
a combination of fantasy, science-fiction and historical genres.
Exercise: walking, cycling and swimming.
Gardening: growing flowers, herbs and vegetables, using organic principles.
Textiles: I make clothes and craft items, hand and machine embroidery, knitting, crochet.
Reading: a wide range of genres and authors.

Education: Secondary education: Dane Court Technical High School, Broadstairs, Kent. I left with six 'O' Levels, all 'A' grade and one CSE in Maths, grade 1.
Open University: BA Hons (2.1) in History; MA (Distinction) in History.
I have also taken Open University short courses in Creative Writing.
Professional Education: Registered Nurse (St George's Hospital, London); Registered Midwife (Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, Cornwall); PGCE in Secondary History (Open University).
