I was the ELL Coordinator at Pauoa Elementary in Honolulu, Hawaii for one year starting in 2014. I was responsible for working with children ages 5-11 one on one, in group settings and in their regular classroom.

Interests: Hello, my name is Alyson and I'm originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I love learning about languages and have been learning Mandarin Chinese mostly on my own for over 15 years now. My husband and I lived in China for five years and loved traveling to countries like Korea, Japan, and Thailand. Here in the United States, we love camping and hiking in different states in the Southwest. Growing up in Hawaii I loved going to the beach and as an adult, I got certified through PADI to do open-water dives. I love listening to and playing music. I play guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele but I would love to learn another instrument!
