Profession: English tutor, freelance writer

Interests: I enjoy fire-spinning (ask me about the two times I lit myself on fire), cooking and baking, games and game design, strategy, and intriguing mysteries, in books or on the screen.

And, of course, I love languages! Not only learning them, but also the cool way all the pieces, from grammar to pronunciation to orthoraphy, and so on, fit together. In my mind, a language is a gigantic, beautiful mess of changing meaning.

Education: B.A. in History and East Asian Studies from Brown University
