From 2017 through early 2020 I worked for a biweekly Northwest Chicago local newspaper, where I wrote stories about local government, politics, and crime. I also served as a photographer, edited stories, and designed parts of the newspaper layout.

I tutored children from 1st to 8th grade at three separate nonprofits from 2013 to 2016. In addition to helping them practice reading, writing and grammar skills, I also served in a mentor role, as many of them came from impoverished backgrounds.

From July to November of last year I helped with the 2020 Census, which is an effort that occurs every 10 years to record the demographic data of every household in the US. While working door-to-door I met many interesting people throughout our city.

興味: My hobbies and interests include biking, listening to jazz music and playing the piano, cooking (I grill a MEAN Chinese Char Siu-style rack of ribs), discussing politics and the news, and learning about other cultures.
