I taught Mathematics to grade 3 children (ages 8/9) for 6 months in South Africa.

I tutored grade 5 and grade 6 students. We focused on a variety of subjects, such as Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Geography and Social Sciences (Biology and History).

I Au Paired for a few different families with children ranging from 2 years old to 14 years old.

Teachers Assistant

I worked as a teachers assistant in a high school for 3 months. I worked in the Afrikaans language classroom and had first-hand experience watching and helping young people learn a second language.

Volunteer

I volunteered for 6 months in Europe and the UK focusing on different aspects of life. I worked in agriculture on a permaculture farm, I did some basic building work/home improvement and also waitressed in Germany.

Interests: I grew up in sunny South Africa, and completed my Intermediate Phase teaching degree with distinction. I went travelling for 6 months with my husband around Europe and the UK, then came back home to complete a qualification in guiding Hiking, Rock Climbing and Abseiling.

I have since moved to Germany and am on my own journey to learn German.

I have travelled to Thailand, Australia, Germany, Poland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Austria, France, the Republic of Ireland, Ireland, Scotland, England, Namibia and Botswana. Due to my travels I have had the privilege of meeting people from all over the world, forming connections and relationships with people from different walks of life and gain a respect and appreciation for other cultures, languages and beliefs.

All this, I believe, makes me more sensitive to how one learns to speak a language that they have never spoken before.

My hobbies include: reading, crocheting, hiking, cycling, kayaking, rock climbing, travelling and meeting new people.
