Since moving to Costa Rica, I have worked as an English language instructor helping many Ticos to improve their English skills. I have also worked as a Spanish instructor helping other expats learn the language of this beautiful country.

관심 분야: It might help you to know that I was highly motivated to improve my Spanish skills when I married a Costa Rican man. It was particularly important because I wanted my mother-in-law to like me.

To my dismay, I found that I seemed to have a block when it came to understanding her Spanish. It took a little dedication and time, but I have finally overcome that.

I tell you that story so you will know that I am sympathetic to the many challenges that come up when you're learning another language. Because I have experienced it, I know some great techniques that can help if you have similar problems.

I earned a Ph.D. from Tulane University in 2004. I have spent many years conducting research in Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, and Costa Rica. My specialty areas are bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology.
