Interests: I love to travel and have been to over 30 of the 52 states in the US. I have also done some international travel (Mexico, Germany, Aruba, Haiti, and Jamaica) and plan to do more in the coming years.

I am a veteran of the US Army and have jumped out of planes as well as repelled from helicopters. I guess you could say I like heights because I enjoy rollercoaster rides and hiking in the mountains too.

Some of my interests are listening to music (I like all kinds but mostly listen to jazz and R&B.) And I am usually reading a few books at one time (right now I am reading Professional Troublemaker by Luvvie Ajayyi Jones, Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown and couple of others for work.)

I absolutely love coffee and all kinds of pastries! My all time favorite snack is popcorn.

I completed my master's in education in 2006 with a concentration on curriculum design. I focused my research on alternative learning environments to meet the needs of children who have barriers to traditional school settings.

I completed my bachelor's degree in 1996 with a focus on journalism and mass communications. I attended school on a fully paid scholarship from the Department of Defense and had several courses in leadership development along with my major studies.
