Interests: This is Amee here. I am a mom of 4 adult-kids. I am an artist. Essentially I was raised by a palette of wild acrylic paints and a shareholders stock in crayons! (Ha Ha) I paint landscapes with acrylic and watercolour paints. I draw with coloured pencils. I digitally illustrate pictures using them for the children’s books I write. So, I am an author. I also write personal development books. I have been teaching, mentoring and coaching children and adults over the course of 6 years, about how to increase their self-esteem and confidence in themselves. I owned a business that combined the experiences I enjoyed most when visiting Disneyland. I designed and created it in New York City, then brought it to Alberta, Canada. So I had a very large store that contained animatronics like a talking tree and toucan, and dancing dolls and stuffed animals. It was like an enchanted forest with a karaoke castle and dance floor, a Tudor Glen Village for hair design and face painting, costumery and create a bear activities. There was an animatronic and live puppet theatre narrated by the 9 foot by 5 foot talking tree. The entire enchanted forest was covered in flowers and fairy lights and faux trees. There was a 16 foot wishing pond bridge with animatronic dancing fairies, with a coloured water fountain and fish. There was a mad science laboratory and a spa section for crafting spa products, as well as a gift store. I held fun themed parties for children, dance classes, craft parties, cheerleading events, daycare teddy bear picnics, the performing arts schools, and corporate Christmas and Halloween parties. We were featured on TV, magazines and we never missed a parade. Throughout my time owning this wonderland adventure store, I had the pleasure of working with hundreds of children to increase their confidence and self-esteem through role-play acting, dance and singing, and crafting. We even had a group of women have a party wearing their wedding dresses. Some of them had to be duck taped on! As well, I had a wedding proposal and catered dinner booking. In fact, all the puppet theatre shows (pre-recorded in New York by a play I wrote) were served up dinner theatre style by the pink dressed chefs. I never lost that desire to encourage people to follow their dreams and live their best life. For the last 3 years, I have been a business and life coach, in addition to being an ESL teacher this year. Currently, I teach through distance learning summer reading camps for children and adults. By now, you may have noted that I like to have fun with kids. During the school year, I support children to help them with English classes online after school. I have a five year education in genetics and the biological sciences. I learned how to clone cells and make them glow in the dark! At school, I learned how to make artificial scents for soaps and candles, make pantyhose. I also studied cancer research. I have a number of hobbies. I once was given a 8 inch crystal-lined rock that was molten when discovered. I was told it was a piece of a meteorite but I don’t believe that. I gave it to my daughter. I make detergent free triple butter soap and whipped bath butter and sell them online and at marketplaces. I sew quilts in the winter. I love to kayak on the lakes and rivers. I have travelled through 6 provinces in Canada and through a major part of the United States, and Mexico. I drove to central Mexico and stayed there for a short while when I was younger, living amongst the people in a small town. I learned basic Spanish and continued to learn it in university afterwards. However, I am out of practice. That goes for my French as well. I am quite creative and I sometimes have a quirky sense of humour. Ok, most times. I love poetry and I am a writer on social media and for my business websites. That’s all I can think of, but I’m wondering, what do you do with your time, and what are your interests?
