This entailed familiarising myself with the curriculum and exam boards, creating resources and lesson plans, setting homework tasks and marking and providing feedback on work for GCSE students of English language and literature.

In this role I co-manage classrooms from age 4-16, cover lessons in the absence of teachers, deliver speech and language interventions, deliver dyslexia management programmes, teach an early years phonics class and more.

Interesses: I am an English Language graduate from Manchester, England and a newly qualified CELTA teacher. I have been a GCSE English tutor for two years and a teaching assistant for just over a year. I have worked in both primary and secondary schools co-managing classrooms, covering lessons, delivering speech and language therapy interventions and teaching phonics to early years classes. I am a generally laidback person but also have a very determined work ethic and hard-working mindset. I come from a working-class, non-academic background and have succeeded academically thanks to hard work, passion and drive (and access to amazing institutions) and this strive for success is something I believe I am able to pass on to others through a caring and amicable approach. I love meeting new people and having new experiences and hope to see as much of the world as I can using my TEFL career.

I completed 3 years of study, 17 modules relating to the English Language - grammar, syntax, history, archaisms, language theory, pragmatics, phonetics and phonology and even forensic linguistics - and I also completed a 12,000 word dissertation.
