I taught ESL at language schools and privately in Bangkok, Thailand in 1997; in Sapporo, Japan from 2004 to 2007; in Vancouver, Canada from 2007 to 2011; in and near Shanghai, China from 2011 to 2020; and in Toronto, Canada from 2020 to the present.

Interests: I have experience teaching in other countries: I lived and taught English in Japan for three years, in Thailand for a year, and China for almost 9 years. I know what it is like to be a foreigner in another country and to try to communicate in another language. I can definitely sympathize.
