Interests: My name is Liam Bolton. I am a friendly and approachable person that enjoys learning new skills and meeting people. One of my passions in addition to teaching English is environmental protection. On January 17, 2022, I will begin my part-time master's of science degree in Environmental Sustainability through University College Dublin.

I have taught English to students in China, both in-person, and online. Moreover, I have tutored a current Peking University master's student while she was still in the application process to the graduate program of translation.

While completing my TESOL certificate I learned how to properly create lesson plans. I also improved my understanding of how to retain students' attention. This course was helpful to me, and I remain committed to self-improvement as an English teacher.

I am an excellent English teacher, because I am patient, and can explain concepts in an easy-to-understand way. Because I, myself, have learned Mandarin Chinese, and now speak at an advanced level, I understand the specific difficulties that exist in learning another language. Additionally, I know what sounds and grammatical features are particularly challenging for Chinese speakers to reproduce and understand. I can adapt activities in ways for Mandarin speakers to easily grasp. Not all of the prospective students will be Chinese speakers. However, I still know what it is like to learn a challenging language. This empathy will help me be an effective English teacher.
