I got a little experience with insurance and engineering during an internship with a company that insures machinery such as fridges and HVAC units. I researched customers' problems with their machines to determine coverage eligibility. It was cool!

兴趣: As I mentioned in my introduction video, I'm an American who's immigrating to Canada. I'm experienced in teaching not just English, but also Russian! I hope to travel to Ukraine someday after the war has ended, perhaps as an aid volunteer. I have a strong interest in American literature and poetry. I have an eclectic taste in music, from old blues to psychedelic EDM. I practice Buddhist meditation, but haven't aligned myself with a particular school or tradition yet. So far, I've studied Zen (Japanese) and various Vajrayana (Tibetan) practices. I'm interested in intersectional social justice and community-building... and also video games and cartoons :)

I had been in a Ph.D. program and wrote my dissertation prospectus on emptiness as liberation some of Viktor Pelevin's fiction. I highlighted the significance of his use of carnivalesque (referencing Bakhtin) and Buddhist themes.
