Worked as a self-employed conservator of books, prints, manuscripts, and ethnographical materials. Notable projects included work at the Saffron Walden Museum and the MCC's archive at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Environment
Was employed by the newly privatised Stockholm City grounds and tree department and tasked with creating a new arboriculture unit for the Greater Stockholm area. In addition to working as head climber, I also ran training courses.

Worked for an industrial lubricants business that produced specialist lubricants for the petroleum industry. Duties ranged from hands-on experience on the factory floor to teaching English to staff and other professionals.

兴趣: I grew up in an Anglo-Texan household in Venezuela and was schooled at Millfield School in Somerset, England.

I've been a journalist and copywriter for the last 15 years, but I've also worked as an arborist, sailing boat skipper, fly fishing guide, and conservator.

My hobbies include sailing, fly fishing, traditional Yang-style taiji chuan, travel, reading, classic films (especially old British films), and motorcycle touring.

I love to travel above all and have been to Japan, India, South East Asia, the Caucasus, Southern Africa, North Africa, North and South America, and all over Europe.

More travels are planned, especially to China, as I'm fascinated by Chinese culture and the internal martial arts.

One place I visit over and over is Sweden, where my sons and two grandsons live. It's my second home.
