I am a UK qualified Nurse having working in a range of wards and disciplines over a long career. I specialised in Neonatal Intensive Care and was a Senior Sister & Ward Manager in the NHS. I mentored nurses and was a practice educator.

I have experience in teaching and mentoring learners from all different backgrounds, circumstances and ages including KS1, KS2, KS3, SEN, Pupil Referral Units, EAL (English as an Additional Language), TEFL, IELTS, College & University students.

Interesses: As a qualified Nurse and Teacher, having gone through the UK education system myself, and as a mother of two I recognise the ever-changing dynamics and developments that underpin teaching policy and research. I fully understand and recognise the challenges and continued demands on students currently in education, and those coming to this country for professional, business and academic purposes.

I have experience in teaching and mentoring learners from all different backgrounds, circumstances and ages including KS1, KS2, KS3, SEN, Pupil Referral Units, EAL (English as an Additional Language), IELTS, College Functional Skills students and University Nursing, Healthcare, and Business Management Students. Working with a wide range of age groups and people from all backgrounds provides the diversity and variety which I look forward to most.

I have seen an increasing demand for overseas and international nurses needing to satisfy spoken English standards, and pass their IELTS as a requirement for working in the UK. So I have developed my own curriculum to specifically address English language skills (spoken and written) for these overseas nurses, doctors, dentists, pharmacists and allied medical professionals.
What matters to me most is the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world, sharing experiences and supporting individuals to reach their goals.

I am a mother of two. I enjoy swimming, camping, reading, travelling, spending time with family and friends and attending the theatre. I am also currently learning Mandarin Chinese.
