I have taught my friends to Ski when we went to Slovakia. As they then had zero knowledge, I had to check their equipment and personal gear before going to the mountain, and teach them the very basic, such as putting the skis, taking them off. The most important aspect was to be encouraging as they had alot of fear for the first three days.
