Intérêts: I have 18 years experience in teaching English at all levels. In Taiwan I taught at elementary and middle schools, as well as part-time to university students. I also taught adults in a county government program.
Then I moved to Saudi Arabia where I taught university and college students in a prep year program. This involved helping students to raise their level of English so that they could learn in an English academic environment. I taught all the skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as well as the content subjects (vocabulary and grammar).
My focus these days is on teaching adults, particularly in the field of preparing for the IELTS exam. I can also teach Business English and preparation for the TOEIC test.
I am friendly and patient and have developed a knack for being able to reduce difficult ideas and concepts to their simplest forms so they are easy to understand. I help learners understand this new knowledge by relating it to things that they already know.
Because I have learned a few other languages to varying degrees of fluency, I understand the difficulties and problems a language student experiences, so I can truly empathize with students learning English.
